What size needles for chunky wool?

For easy and comfortable knitting we recommend large needles 20 mm in diameter and 24 cm in length. They should include a plastic tube that will help the yarn from sliding about. Normally, the tube length is 40 inches / 100 cm. Most needles are polished smooth making them a joy to knit your chunky projects with.

How do you felt super chunky merino wool?

Once you’ve gathered together your supplies (yarn, felting needles, shape cutters, pad and finger protectors) you first need to thin out your wool and position it in the desired shape cutter. Second, use your felting needle to thread through in and out all over the fibre, being careful to do the edges too. Then turn it over and repeat the process on the other side. Finally, continue until the wool is shaped into one tough piece of fabric.

Is bulky and chunky yarn the same?

Both ‘Chunky’ and ‘Bulky’ refer to the yarn weight (thickness). Most of the time it’s a difference in terminology. Yarn size 5+ is most often referred to as “Chunky” in the UK and “Bulky” in the U.S.
